This marks the first game I know of that allows you to send the developers constructive criticism while you play. Hydrophobia's developers aren't done listening to your feedback. It also supports Move controls, although I found them to be a little awkward and prefer playing with just the DualShock. Since I already liked Hydrophobia I wouldn't describe this version as vastly improved, but the good news is that it's definitely worth playing again if you already swam through the original. But if you played the original on Xbox Live Arcade you'll find a heavily reworked game with altered levels, plot points, and - perhaps most notably - a new voice actor for Kate's partner, Scoot (many found the original actor annoying). For new Hydrophobia players, the changes implemented in Prophecy will be invisible. The game barely keeps up with the water physics at times and the framerate will drop noticeably. While the water behavior is exceptional, character models move more stiffly and more robotic than what we've come to expect this generation.
One extra step in between your gun and your enemy makes for a more satisfying kill. I really like how Hydrophobia gives us so many ways to terrorize the terrorists. One of my favorite ways to take out the bad guys is to use a stun round to knock them out while standing in water - they usually drown before they come to. A modified version of this gel round will electrocute nearby terrorists. Her standard stun rounds can burst explosive barrels or leaking gas lines.

Kate has just a pistol for a weapon but will find a variety of unorthodox ammunition that allows for creative kills. Anyone truly hydrophobic would experience deep emotional trauma under these extreme circumstances, but Kate doesn't appear more afraid than any of us would be in her situation. Almost immediately she swims great distances underwater and wades through crushing waterfalls. But you never really get a sense that she is in her own personal hell. Kate, our heroine, supposedly suffers from hydrophobia. Unfortunately, all of this water leads to a fundamental problem. You start to get a claustrophobic, panicked feeling when water smashes onto the screen, obstructing your view. Open the door to a flooded room and water comes gushing out, spilling into the hallway and into any nooks and crannies. While none of this is all that original, I eagerly kept playing to see what the next scene had in store for me. Typical tasks include finding a key card or scanning walls with your fancy-pants PDA for clues. In this respect, Tomb Raider comes to mind. Most of Hydrophobia consists of traversing dangerous environments in order to make it to the next objective while neutralizing any terrorists you encounter.
